Bais Shmuel Provides Building Update, and It’s Good News

Bais Shmuel of Crown Heights has released an update on their future building, and the update is filled with good news.
“We wanted to share the excellent news that we’ve made significant progress with our building’s approvals this week,” the shul wrote in an email to members. “BH, our hearing at the Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA) was very successful, and they’ve agreed to approve our request for a zoning varriance that adds an additional floor and a half beyond the as-of-right zoning. This is a big win for the Shul, providing the extra space we need, including a rooftop for Sukkos use.”
According to the email, the shul has already cleared most of the DOB’s approval process with their original construction plans, and the next step involves securing DOB approval for the updated plans, which are anticipated to be completed before summer. Digging and breaking ground on their new home would then begin immediately.
“I extend my gratitude to all our members for your continued partnership and dedication to this project,” Rabbi Moshe Pinson and the Shuls Building Committee wrote. “It’s exciting to see the continued progress and the brachos propelling us toward making this building a reality.”

The building looks beautiful, but how can this be opening up right across the street from the women’s mikva??

Because you bring up this נאריש argument I must ask, Can you please produce any sort of evidence to back up this claim That there can’t or shouldn’t be a womens Mikvah across the street from a shul? Do you really think or believe that the whole reason why that property hasn’t been developed for the last many years is because it wouldn’t have been across the street from a woman Mikvah?

It’s one thing if there are houses…it’s another if there is shul that is going to have an event hall with lots of people traffic!

The mikva is on union, the shul is on Albany, and not facing the entrance of the mikva. I don’t see an issue.
