Shoplifter Arrested With the Help of Shomrim After Mazelike Chase

A shoplifter caught red handed in the act was arrested Thursday evening after Shomrim was called and the volunteers intervened.

The shoplifter had been doing is brand of “shopping” Thursday evening perusing Empire Kosher and filling up his shopping cart. As he exited the store without paying, a witness confronted him, causing him to ditch his stolen good and make a run for it.

Shomrim was called and multiple members responded, following the man as he ran a maze around Crown Heights. Ultimately though, his run ended on Maple Street and Brooklyn Ave where the man stopped and the police arrived.

With the witness and store manager pressing charges the man was arrested and spent some time thinking about his life choices behind bars in the 71st Precinct.
