Over $2 Million Fundraised in Just 4 Days to Save a Child

Eliana Cohen, daughter of Shani Levi Cohen and Ariel Cohen, lives in Miami Florida, and is about to turn 2 years old.

Diagnosed with SMA type 2, a very rare genetic disease, she is unable to stand, and her prognosis is not good.

In May 2019, the FDA approved a “miracle drug,” called Zolgensma, which can create the gene that is missing. This approval has allowed for the drug to be administered only for children up to 2 years of age and Eliana is now in the fight for life trying to get this medication before her second birthday.

This drug is a one time dosage, and costs around $2.2 million dollars. The  insurance had denied the request to pay of this drug.

With no recourse, the family launched a campaign to raise the money, having only a handful of days to bring it together.

Miraculously, through Klal Yisroel, the $2.2 Million Dollar goal was reached in only four days, and the medication ordered.
