Brooklyn, NY — At about 5 pm Erev Shabbos, two girls walking home from the Brooklyn Public Library on Eastern Pkwy were robbed of an iPod. The girl who was listening to her iPod, took it out of her pocket to switch songs when it was snatched from her hand.

The perpetrator, after snatching the iPod, fled into Mount Prospect Park, which is in between the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and the Library. The girls called 911 and after waiting 15 minutes they called Shomrim, 3 units responded and advised the victims to file a police report at the precinct being that it was close to Shabbos and they did not want to wait.
The perpetrator was described as a male Black around 15 years old; BH all he took was the iPod and didn’t hurt them.
CrownHeights.info and Shomrim would like to warn the community, now that its summer, we need to take extra care with how we handle our personal electronics and MP3 players out on the street. Don’t use the white earphones as those immediately would make you a target even if your iPod isn’t in plain view.
