everyone knows what they can do about this. those who don't know what to do, can do Ahavas Yisroel. Others can think sanely and decide what the way is to deal with this. I will graciously admit that I do not know all the background and politics involved in this case, as I do not live in the immediate area, but what I can say, from my outsider's point of view, is that the comments that are being made in reference to this article are certainly not very kiddishkeit.

The problem here is that there is an element of the Crown Heights Jewish society that is physically threatening the lives of people. There are the people who respect the work of the Shomrim, and heard a story about bochurim throwing benches, and are bothered by it and want peace.

There are also people who respect the ideals of the mishichistin, and heard stories about Lubavitchers who are not so chassidish that pick fights. And of course they want tolerance for the tzfatim.

Both of these groups visit both of the websites, read both versions of the story, claim that the other is biased, wrong and full of hate, and post comments of insult and anger that are generally futile except for rousing public fury.

im not sure if you were there but i clearly remember getting hit with a BENCH and an IGROS KODESH in 770 that was thrown by a TZFATI NOT from a SHOMRIM member i would have gotten hurt preaty bad if that SHOMRIM member did not get in the way of a nother BENCH and some SEFORIM that was thrown in my direction.
