i allways wondered why only shimshon is collecting at the ohle guimmel tammuz when theres a crowd of over 25.000, i found out later that abba refson (in charge of the ohel) only let shimshon collect, its not hard for me to imagine why. he was such a special person.

WOW, WOW, WOW. I didn't know R' Shimon, but everyone I've met today is speaking about this giant of Chessed, with a heart bigger than one can imagine. Hashem should grant us all the atrength to be just that little better in the Zechus of this 100% pure person. We should be Zocher to have the Simcha of Purim lead right on, onto Moshiach....

Woe onto the BT's & others. Who will be willing to step up to the plate and care as much as this special man. His specialty was Yesonim and almonos. Before they knew what they needed he was on his way to find out what he coud do for them. Let's hear from all the young people who are making such big bucks to make one of their best investments. CSSY the “Stock” never goes down and your profit of helping others is phenemonal. There are plenty of customer to choose from. We are obligated to remember Shimshon and everything he stood for...for our sake and especially for the sake of our children - we must teach them who Shimshon was and try as much as possible to perpetuate everything he stood for. He was a Ish Emes. He was not impressed by “glitter” but loved the truth. He made himself available several (special) days troughout the year to allow others to contribute to CSSY. Thereby enabling us the opportunity to share in his very holy work. His love for everyone was incredible. Any injustice ate at his gut and he did everything in his power to right as many wrongs as possible. If I had to describe Shimshon in one sentence “He fought for truth regardless of the consequence and fought till the end .” We need him back together with our Rebbe. Moshiach we need you NOW!!!!

Shimshon was so full of love and life it is hard to imagine he has passed away.
Shimshon was the epitome of chesed and ahavas yisroel. He always had the time, energy, and means to help his fellow Jews, and get things done to make a difference in their lives. He lived and breathed ahavas yisroel.
He had the biggest heart and the best sense of humour. How we would laugh together!
So hard to say goodbye, at least until Moshiach comes.

Shimshon, where can one start? Today we lost a real integral, special outstanding member of our crumbling community. We should mourn his way, with happiness that he is in a better place, even if it's hard because we feel the pain of his loss so strongly here. He was outspoken, and really fought for what he believed was right, not caring what anyone thought, how many of us here can say we do that? His tzedekah cause was always close to his heart wether it be collecting or giving with a kind open generous hand. However i believe it is his very unique sense of humor that will be most missed...shimshon could put a smile on any face he knew just what to say to make us laugh, smaile and just feel good about ourselves. Shimshon as your friend I salute your life and will really miss you.

It seems as if a piece of Crown Heights is missing now. Shimshon was one of the first people I met when I came to Crown Heights 25 years ago. If anyone can nudge Hashem to finally let us have Moshiach..... Shimshon can. I know it won't be much longer.

i will always remenber one purim i passed by r's.stock and a lot of people were there to give tzedaka....it was really HIS special day,standing on his porch all day......but what i remenber that day is that he said..“look at this pictures of the REBBE puttind tsedaka in my pushka....it's the only picture you will find of the REBBE havind BOTH his hands in the pushka”.......we have to continue supporting r'stock organization.....

He is a giant of a man who can never be replaced, and Shimshon may you be the one who makes such a huge STHURIM in Shamaim (like you used to do in 770) so that Hashem finally brings the Geula Sheima immediately NOW!!!

Shimshon helped every single single parent in Crown Heights with a complete devotion to their plight. He understood and cared and raised their morale. He also took care of many of their needs , and specialyfood and money before YOmim Tovim. What a loss, there are no words of consolation for this great loss of a man so dedicated to his community.

Chabad has lost one of its greatest people. The best times I've ever spent in Crown Heights were in his home. My first time ever in CH was a chaf bais shvat when I was in high school and I stayed in his basement with a bunch of other girls. We were fortunate to have seen the best Crown Heights had to offer right from the start. I hope many Crown Heightsers step up and fill the void he has left behind, selflessly raising tzedakah and helping needy families. Shimshon will be greatly missed.

The CSSY headquarters are 593 Montgomery st. Tzedaka was collected on Purim at that address and will continue to be collected there.
CSSY will continue to help the people in Crown Heights until Moshich comes.

We were lucky enough to meet and spend time with Shimshon on a number of occasions in California. he had an amazing outlook on life and marriage, and his advice was priceless---I will always treasure those conversations with him. The stories we heard about him were funny yet carrying an important message. Perhaps he chose to die on Purim so that people will say a l"chaim on his yahrzeit---it seems so in character to have a party in his memory.

Shimshon's passing is a GREAT loss for us in CH.
He will be truly missed.

I heard from one of Shimshon's relatives that every morning at 7 am Shimshon would stand on his porch waiting to see his grandson off to yeshiva and all the neighbors could hear him shout “Learn Torah!!” This happened every morning for years!!

Some memories
Shimshon could push the envelope like no one else in Chabad when it came to social conventions, and no one minded cause of his great big heart.
Shimshon was known to scream when collecting for Chevra Simcha v'Shabboss, shoving his cardboard box into men's faces in 770 saying things like, 'I know you made alot of gelt in the stock market this year, you can give more than that!', or “Give! It's for the people!”.
He could be a mischevious but harmless flirt, calling the women his 'girlfriends', but never, ever meaning it as anything but ahavas yisroel and no one took it in a bad way, but in a fun way.
He would sit in the evenings at his kitchen table answering phone call after call of pleas for all kinds of help. In a typical evening he would be finding a place to live for a battered woman, answering investment questions, offering shidduchium, marriage counseling, and telling off community members whom he felt had done the wrong thing, always with a gleam of humour and love in his eye, often times yelling, but never harshly, and never uttering a complaint that the burden was too great.
When I was single he once offered me a shidduch with someone from interstate and I refused because I said I woudn't move outside NY. 'What is wrong with the women today?,“ he commented, 'you go wherever your husband has a parnosa!” That was Shimshon, he never minced words, never held back his strong opinions, and he was totally and utterly selfless.
And who can forget the time he said to the Rebbe at the dollar line, (paraphrasing) 'Rebbe, you have to take care of your health, what would we all do if something should happen to you?“ to which the Rebbe replied as he gestured towards Heaven with his finger, 'You have Hashem.”
Shimshon's inimitable ways can never be duplicated and it was a privlege to have known him. I can picture him dancing with the Rebbe right now, with his cap, and his big smile. Oh, how he will be missed!

Just a few months ago Shimshon called me to tell me that he needed to meet with me so we could talk about something very important. We set up a time and I went over. He asked me to please call someone I know, and talk to her and try to put certain ideas into her head which he thought might help sholom bayis before it got into trouble because he heard about something. But, to be very careful not to mention his name or her husband's name or anyone else, but to give her this advice as if it was my own and in a way that she would never even know that she was being helped. He also told me not to mention this to anyone, because it could only be bad for sholom bayis, and the only people who need to know are those that can do something to correct it in a non-threatening way. Of course he called to make sure that I spoke to her. I'm sure he knows that his idea was taken to heart and she did take his advice. I feel honored to have been given the opportunity to be a part of what Shimshon stands for. The truth is we all have the opportunity, donate to CSSY and you too can be a part of this great Chessed.

Words cannot express the deep grief our family is feeling right now. Although it wasn't easy for you to come out to each of our simchos, you were always there to partake and join in the simcha. and enjoy you did...within two minutes all your great nieces were right by your side..because you were the great uncle that made everyone feel special. we will miss your hugs, your stories, your humor your advice....May you be a Meilitz Yosher for our entire family and daven on our behalf for Shidduchim, health, Parnassa and everything good. We will miss you so very much. Hashem should give your beautiful family Nechama at this trying time.

My parents shidduch was one of the many that Shimshon did.On purim,my mother said to my whole family that Shimshon's only request was that all the kids of the shidduchim he made should name one of their boys Shimshon.I might be planning a little early because I am only ten years old, but when I get married and have kids G-d willing,I am going to name one of them Shimshon in his memory.
He always had a smile for everyone, and when we came to NY he made the time to see us,and many other nice things.When I would visit him,he pretended he was just a normal guy, but really he was a hidden tzaddik.
Anyways,he is looking at us from Gan Eden so we don't have to worry.
