Black Teens Caught After Snatching Purse


CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two black teens snatched a purse from two young Jewish women last night, but were caught thanks to alert residents. The incident began after midnight, when the girls were walking on Montgomery St, between Kingston and Brooklyn Ave.

The two black males snuck up behind the two young women and one swiped the purse, as the other attempted to snag a cellphone but failed. The teen duo then fled toward Brooklyn Ave, behind the girls call for help.

Upon witnessing the commotion, vigilant Crown Heights residents gave chase, while others called Shomrim and the Police.

The residents immediately apprehended and arrested one perp, on the corner of Brooklyn Ave. They retrieved the purse and retuned it to the girls.

Within minutes many Shomrim volunteers and police officers were at the scene. The police cuffed the teen who was arrested by the residents, after he fought with officers questioning him. Other officers, Shomrim volunteers and residents searched for the other perpetrator.

After a brief search the teen was located at the entrance to the alleyway on Kingston Ave, between Empire Blvd and Montgomery St. The Shomrim volunteers radioed in the their location and police brought the victims to ID the teen. The police then placed the teen in the back of their cruiser.

At the time of writing this article, CrownHeights.info was not able to confirm whether charges have been filed. According to some witness statements, the perpetrator were released a mere few blocks from incident.
