That said, you are right about one thing: The kid has not been exposed to much music (or much else. You'd figure that a kid who has such “broad ideas” would at least be able to spell basic words...)

You're right. As a single father of six I can appreciate your candor and respect. Why a ten year old would enact on his own rather then parental supervision associated with it cannot be damaging at all. On the other hand I do feel that education should not be hypocritical at all!

Notice its for all boys not just darchai. Plus some credit to OT maybe after all they supported the choir merge.

Darchai is an exceptional school and it's a darn shame that all kids are not given the opportunity to express themselves and their talents the way the Darchai boys do. In Darchai there is not 1 boy who is there to be a seat warmer. Each student is given a chance to explore what he has to offer within the classroom and in his own personal life.

Sadly, there are those “elite” from other “Goliath” schools that are threatened by little “David” YDM and purposely attempt to undermine their much needed fundraising programs.

Thank you “Darchai Rules!” As a former parent at Darchai I can tell you that it is truly a shining jewel in our community! The learning is top notch. You often hear the cliche' that they teach to the individual child- well Darchai truly DOES do that! They are creative and innovative in their instruction, while teaching total hiskashrus to the Rebbe. The administration and teachers are true role models who completely devote themselves to the child's chinuch and to the child as 'a person.' This school deserves every penny you donate because it all goes straight back to our community's boys.

i'm 22 and agree with you, there's barely any good jewish music. israeli music is about the only good jewish music. To all those parents out there, if your kids were to listen to non jewish music they'd be turned on right away. i have so many younger relatives that can't stand jewish music.
