Its the easiest thing to write up a whole op-ed doing just that.

The FACT is There are people from the community who are facing trial.

The FACT is that the “complainants”/Mossrim are other Yiddin.

The FACT is the above op-ed, as much as the author means well, does not help the party in trouble.

It's not so simple. IF the accusation against the Shomrim were true, that they assaulted their accusers, then the accusers would have been right to masser them and to press charges and to testify. Remember what happened when R Pinny Korf was assaulted; the Rebbe insisted that the assailants must be prosecuted, and that the witnesses must testify. Don't you remember the farbrengens when the Rebbe thundered “im lo yagid venoso avono”?

The only difference between that case and this one is that in this case the story isn't true. Or at least so I believe. But if you're not convinced that the story isn't true, because to you “it's all politics” and you don't want to know the truth, then you can't condemn those who are pushing this and testifying. That's why truth matters; you have to know who is right and who is wrong, and it's irresponsible to just dismiss both sides without looking at the facts.

When a yid accuses another yid of beating him, you HAVE to inquire into whether it's true; because if it is true then you MUST side with the victim, but if it isn't true then you MUST side with the accused. You may not be able to decide who is right; in that case you can stand aside because you don't know what to do. But not to even bother, to say you don't care, that it doesn't matter?! My Reply:
Exactly, now we agree. were not going to just lock up other Jews, if this is happening, it is our responsibility to find out why. (First of course to help and stop it-the mesira).
Don't just throw it under the bus and disregard it.
Because putting other Yiddin In jail (or causing them any loss) is a terrible thing.

If you care, then its your responsibility to do something about it.

Another point. Both sides could scream from today till tomorrow “mi lahashem elai” “mit an emes”, thats ok and only natural, but its up to you, as a person (whom wants to know the truth) to investigate the facts and come to your own conclusion. This case is in court, that means there are documents, evidence, discovery, I guess we will all know the truth after the case. G-d willing our dear shomrim will be as innocent as they are today.
