Maybe it would be smarter to leave out things you really don't know about...aka Jonathan Pollard.

The campaigns for his release have nothing to do with whether or not he is guilty. Of course he is guilty and he plead guilty. But the injustice is that he was arrested for one crime--espionage--and he plead guilty, the average sentance is 2-4 years and no one has ever served more than 7. He was convicted of another crime--while he was being tried for espionage--and he was convicted of treason--which couldn't really happen because the nature of treason is giving information to an enemy nation and Israel clearly doesn't fit that form. He was sentanced to life in solitary confinement--a punishment that no one has ever recieved for the same crime.

The Jonathan Pollard campaigns want him out because he was cheated out of a fair trial by anti-Semites in our government. His sentance is extreme for the crimes committed--and no one with the same crimes served as long.

Until he was arrested, he did not even know his green card was canceled.

Visas, documents, immigration papers are something that many people neglect and don't realize that they could get in trouble over it. Americans do the same thing in EY. i went through the green card process myself (married an american) and when i changed my address and sent a letter to the immigration, thier system didn't process it.

i was lucky that i went through a lawyer, so when they sent me an appointment, my lawyer got it too and notified me.

when i went down for my appointmetn, they asked me to verify my address, and they had my old address! when i told them i had sent them the change of address form, they said, “oh yeah, we never get those...”

so a lesson we could learn from this, is go through a lawyer!

If you read the comments on the original article about the immigration bust, there were a lot of negative comments on illegal Mexican workers. Someone pointed out that Mexicans are not the only illegal immigrants in the country. Evan someone who over stays their visa can be considered illegal. The comments on the article were assuming that the illegals were Mexican--- and some comments actively cheered on the government for stepping in and sending them back regardless that these individuals had families etc.

The comments on this article bring about a very different response. So yes, in this case he's Jewish. Yes you're not supposed to leave a Jew in jail. And yes, this poor man's family. But what about the families of the other men (and women?) caught in the immigration bust?! People were so quick to say, “Send them back to their country.” Until it hit home. Like here.

To anyone who is AMERICAN and doesn't realize how HARD it is to get a visa more than 5 years - being able to stay in this country is not easy at all - I myself have had a visa for almost 5 years, applied recently for a green card so i could stay, and now realize i can't stay until i get the green card (and by the way, getting a green card is a crazy thing in itself) - so I, together with other foreigners, do not want to have to leave the country - but am stuck - because if i do stay here, i could get in the same trouble. but to know that i'd have to leave and not be able to come back for about 4 yrs - when my whole life is here????

When you own a slaughterhouse where 600 or more of your employees have no outlook of going anywhere but maybe make another dollar an hour you will for sure have a bunch of these people get into drugs. These people have no papers so their changes of a better life in Iowa are not very great.

It was reported that some employees took weapons to work. Weapons can be anything. It could also be knives. They where working in a slaughterhouse and didn't have to go far to get hold of weapons of that kind.

Two small examples of this:

Someone claiming to be an employee and identified as Source #11 speaks about turkey processing operations, which take place on the south side of the tracks that run by the plant. He was shown a map and identified a number of buildings as being where the turkey production takes place. He knows this because he has friends that work there. A few years back Rabbi Tal Ginter was issued a “Green Card”, as required by law when one moves, he submitted a change of address to the immigration office and then moved to Morristown N.J. to study at Y.T.T.L. it was revealed now however that the immigration office kept sending his mail to an old address.

Until he was taken away by the I.C.E.(Immigration and Customs Enforcements) Rabbi Tal Ginter had no idea that in the meantime they revoked his green card, since he did not show up for his appointment (Gov. sent it to old address) and they went ahead and passed a Deportation judgment against him.

Even government officials here agree that Rabbi Tal Ginter should be allowed to go free, but the law says that since he has a judgment against him, the only one who is able to revoke it, is the original judge, and that can Chas V’Sholom take a long time, so basically they want him to stay R”L in prison because of their mistakes.

This is why we ask everyone to please say Tehilim and give extra Tzedokoh for Tal Ben Sarah, the community has also been in contact with many head Shluchim and L’Havdil Senators and Congress people and other great Askonim on his behalf, so we can get his case moving quickly so he can go back to his loving family.
