
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — This past Thursday night about 50 boys of the Lubavitcher Yeshiva's 7th and 8th grades packed the zal of Oholei Torah for the first night of an inter-Yeshiva Mishmor learning program. Each boy was carefully matched up with a zal bocher, with whom he learned a sicha of the Rebbe. Followed by a wild Jewperdy game to which one team managed to pull ahead despite the very close game.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — This afternoon, Tuesday a Bnos Menachem teacher witnessed a Hispanic babysitter feeding a Jewish child non-Kosher food in Lefferts Park. Out of concern she emailed CrownHeights.info in an attempt to inform the parents of what happened.

BROOKLYN, NY [CHI] — Unusually strong gusty winds toppled tens of Sukkahs in Crown Heights and around Brooklyn today, Wednesday. Wind speeds reached as strong as 53mph according to the National Weather Service, causing lots of damage.

CROWN HEIGHTS — New York State Senator Eric Adams (D) visited with some of his constituents in a Sukkah in the Crown Heights Jewish community, Monday evening.
The Senator, who is also NYS Chairman of the Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs met with leaders of the Chabad Lubavitch movement where the conversation focused on the activities of Chabad and its security needs.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Students of Lubavicher Yeshiva, are in the final stages of organizing Mivzoim for this coming Sukkos.
The 8th grade is inviting all students of grades 5 through 7 to participate in the mivtzoim on Friday morning, Hoshana Raba, after last years tremendous success. The mivtzoim is one of several programs which the all new Chayolei Beis Dovid, 8th grade program of Lubavitcher Yeshiva, has organized for the students of the Yeshiva. Eighty years ago, a little boy of eight days old wore a lace trimmed white outfit to a grand Bris and was named Shmuel Eliyahu after his grandfather who was the gabbai of Collel Chabad. The Rebbe Rayatz was visiting America at that time. Reb Chaim Elchonon, the father of the baby asked the Rebbe Rayats to be the sandik and the Rebbe accepted and came to the Bris with a few Chassidim.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — This afternoon, Wednesday, the students and teachers of United Lubavitcher Yeshivah on Crown St celebrated the birthday of their principal, Rabbi Simpson. During lunch he gave out chocolates to all the boys while they sang Chashidishe Nigunim. During the singing, Rabbi Karp surprised him with a beautiful birthday cake.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Earlier this week Hechts Kapores on Eastern Parkway advertised Kapores at a reduced price of $5, today we received notice that thanks to a generous contribution the price has been further reduced to $4 for the benefit of Crown Heightsers.
Reb Dovid Fisher along with Moshe Uri ben Malka and Cong. Anash at 770 Montgomery Street gave the contribution to make this happen.

CROWN HEIGHTS — The city has agreed to pay $95,000 to a Hasidic family whose Crown Heights home was raided by the NYPD after a racially charged attack on a cop's son.
Jacob and Leah Ezagui say cops kicked in their door at 1:45 a.m. on April 15, 2008, rousted them and their five kids from bed, and busted one son despite not having a warrant.
