As he plummets toward earth at 300 miles per hour after jumping out of a plane, Rabbi Infinity serenely irons a sock in freefall while expressing confidence that his parachute will open in time. “When life sends you spiraling downward, stay calm and rely on the creator of life for a smooth landing,” he says.
Whether skydiving or sifting for gold, Infinity teaches adults and children Jewish mysticism as the two-dimensional narrator of “Kabbala Toons.” He promises a limitless return for a small investment of time. “Give me one minute,’’ he says, “I’ll give you cosmic consciousness.”

Construction Workers Preparing the Armory
The non-descript building occupying a square block on Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, draws little attention of passersby and local residents. But this Sunday evening, thousands will file into the Troop C Armory for the banquet session, concluding the International Conference of Shluchim.
When Lieutenant Paul Grout petitioned the Ways and Means Committee for $150,000 to house his cavalrymen, he can hardly have pictured the troops who would dine in his drill hall 109 years later.

Without a doubt one the climaxes of each years Kinus is when all the Shluchim gather in front of 770 for the group photo, as the thousands sing in unison. This event is set to take place on Sunday morning, in less then 12 hours.
We are happy to present a special collection of the group photos spanning from the years 1984 through 2008 [less 1989 and 1990 which are missing] marking the significant growth each year!

With the opening of the worldwide conference of Shluchim in New York we gathered into one article the full list of all the new Shluchim that we reported about in the last year.

Entitled “Moving In,” Frederic Aranda’s photograph of Rabbi Yonah and Keren Blum, and their son Schneur Zalman, captures the young family in their early days at the Chabad Resource Center serving Columbia University. (Photo: Frederic Aranda)
He has won multiple awards for a portfolio that includes politicians, royalty, fashion models and film stars. He has photographed the likes as Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, Ben Stiller, and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and is regarded by some as one of the world’s most exciting fashion and portrait photographers.
But it is the world of Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis and their families that forms the unlikely subject for Frederic Aranda’s first solo exhibition, “Kosherface,” which begins this week in London.

MORGANTOWN, WV [CHI] — In what is believed to be an unprecedented ceremony for the federal prison system, Jewish leaders flocked to this West Virginia city Tuesday for the dedication of a Torah to be used by the detainees.

Last Wednesday, Chabad, AEPhi and AEPi joined for the Loaves of Love program at UConn. Close to 60 sorority and fraternity members crowded into the small common room of the AEPi house. They rolled out the Challah dough, braided them and added some toppings. Everyone was invited to make “one to give away, and one to keep,” said Shaindel Hecht, director of Chabad at UConn. For many it was a first in Challah baking as Elana Quiroga of UConn puts it, “I had fun making challah for the first time!”

WATERBURY, CT [CHI] — It is human nature to seek the good in even the blackest of tragedies. One would be hard pressed to find the light in the four-day terrorist attack on the Indian city of Mumbai, which killed 164 civilians and security personnel last November, including Rabbi Gabriel Holtzberg and his wife, Rivka, a young couple running the Chabad Nariman House that is now thought to have been the target of the city-wide attack.

When the umbrella organization of North American Jewish communities launched its new campaign to shine a spotlight on local leaders and activists, few people thought the Internet-based Jewish Community Heroes contest would have quite the impact or buzz it’s garnered for several months, least of all the 20 top vote-getters announced this month.
