The Chabad on Campus International Student Shabbaton, which kicks off Nov. 6 in Brooklyn, N.Y., grows with each passing year.
CROWN HEIGHTS — Hundreds of Jewish college students representing campuses around the world are making their way to New York City for the Chabad on Campus International Student Shabbaton, an annual weekend known both for its inspirational and educational content, and its ability to foster student connections transcending national borders.
WATERBURY, CT [CHI] — It is human nature to seek the good in even the blackest of tragedies. One would be hard pressed to find the light in the four-day terrorist attack on the Indian city of Mumbai, which killed 164 civilians and security personnel last November, including Rabbi Gabriel Holtzberg and his wife, Rivka, a young couple running the Chabad Nariman House that is now thought to have been the target of the city-wide attack.

In a letter sent home from schools, community physicians warn of a Mumps outbreak in our community. The note said that “although at this time seems concentrated amongst adolescent boys; we expect will spread further throughout the community.” The note goes on to explain what the symptoms are and how to go about treating it.
CrownHeights.info wishes Mazal Tov to Betzalel and Nomi (nee Kaner) Sandman (New Haven, CT) on the birth of their son.
May the newborn be a source of Nachas to his parents, grandparents and Klal Yisroel.

Sitting on a fence is a man who sees no sense in fighting
Sitting on a fence is a man who sees no sense at all
Sitting on a fence is a man who strokes his twenty beards
Sitting on a fence is a man who drinks real ale
But the real problem with this man
Is he says he can’t when he can
He’d rather not get his hands dirty
He’ll still be there when he’s thirty
I told myself to keep my mouth shut
But I still end up saying if and but
I lied to myself right from the start
And I’ve just worked out that I’m falling apart
Sitting on a fence is a man who looks up to his guardian
Sitting on a fence is a man who swings from poll to poll
Sitting on a fence is a man who sees both sides of both sides
Sitting on a fence is a man who looks down on opinion
