United Lubavitcher Yeshivas PTA arranged a special fun afternoon for parents and children in the large lunchroom in Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Crown Street, the program included live music by Chaim Fogelman, face painting, jelly doughnuts and raffles!

NEW YORK, NY [CHI] — Hundreds of visitors and Macy's shoppers were treated to a special Chanukah Wonderland on the 34th Street Macy's kids floor on Sunday. Children took part in an olive-press workshop led by Judah the Maccabee, who cracked jokes and gave a riveting account of the Chanukah story. The Menorah was lit using the freshly squeezed oil. Children made Chanukah “Jewelites,” decorating Chanukah images with bright Jewels. All children took home Dreidels and chocolate coins!

Thousands of Men Woman and Children celebrated the 5th night of Chanukah at the American Airlines Arena along with the Miami Heat, the 8th Day Band and LEC Boys Choir...and more.
Thursday evening the Friendship Circle families along with the volunteers were invited to a special Chanukah Party in the Jewish Childrens Museum.
A delicious meal was served and gifts were given out to all the Friendship Circle children. A large chocolate menorah was then lit by Yehuda Reichman after he recited the Brochos loud and clear. The kids and volunteers enjoyed lots of activities including decoration jelly doughnuts and cookies.

CZECH REPUBLIC, Prague [CHI] — Hundreds of local residents and Israeli tourists gathered on Sunday, the third night of Chanukah, in the Jan Palach Square for the central menorah lighting with local Chabad Shliach Rabbi Manis Barash.
It wasn’t just the Crown Heights schools that got to partake in the children’s Chanukah rally in 770, schools from across the states took part in say the 12 Pesukim and watched.

BUDEPEST, Hungary [CHI] — At a public Menorah lighting in Budapest, the Prime Minister of Hungary expressed his pride and joy, that he heads a government which lets Chanukah to be celebrated openly. Rabbi Baruch Oberlander, Rabbi Shlomo Koves, Rabbi Shmuel Raskin, and Rabbi Shmuel Gliztshtein, together with the help of a few Bochurim brought the joy of Chanukah to Budapest. They distributed shipments of Chanukah Menorah's, dredle's and other Chanukah necessities brought in from Israel to the local community.

Wednesday evening the mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, choose to hold the annual Chanukah party in the Jewish Childrens Museum in Crown Heights. Every year, the mayor chooses a different neighborhood to hold this party and this year, a group of Rabbis, politicians, activists and others were on hand to listen to Bloomberg's speech about the light of the holiday. Also in attendance was Mr. Marty Markowitz the Brooklyn Borough President. Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson, the director of the Jewish Childrens Museum, granted Mr. Bloomberg a small model of the huge dreidel displayed in front of the museum.

PRETORIA, South Africa [CHI] — Over 40 cars gathered for a car Menorah parade, followed by a grand Dreidel game at the Brooklyn mall. With about 150 in attendance, it was a beautifull event. Bochurim brought live music to the candle lighting ceremony. Refreshments were served sponsored by the PHC Shul.

Grades Pre1a through 6th grade of the Oholei Torah Elementary School enjoyed a day packed with lots of fun, organized by mother in the PTA the kids enjoyed Arts & Crafts, Face Painting, a fabulous Bubble Show, two moon bounce rides and nosh. In addition the children had a drawing competition where they each drew something related to Chanukah and hung it on the walls of the gym.

Once again, The Yeshiva by The Ohel HaKadosh organized Mivtza Chanukah with a “bang”, this time with uniquely-designed “Chanukah Mitzva Tanks”, helping many Shluchim in Long Island and Queens with their Chanukah celebrations and Menorah lightings.

Freezing weather in Seoul, South Korea didn't dampen the Jewish communities celebration of Chanukah conducted by Shliach to Rabbi Asher Litzman.

The second night of Chanukah a parade of 21 ‘Tanks’ and around 80 cars topped with Menorahs made their way from 770 to Manhattan with escort by the NYPD’s Highway Division. The parade made its way over the Manhattan Bridge on to Houston St. then up 6th Av. Where hundreds of thousands of people were witness to the parade, the parade then passed ‘Grand Army Plaza’ where the worlds largest kosher Menorah stands proudly, then back down 5th Av. To 23rd St. where the tanks then spread out across the city doing Mivtzoim, spreading to message of Chanukah and distributing menorahs to the masses!

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL [CHI] — A record breaking number of 10,000 people, as estimated by the police, filled the Gulfstream Park of Hallandale Beach, Florida, to join a huge Chanukah party held for the 28th year in a row.

BUDAPEST, Hungary [CHI] — Hungary's Jewish community as the gathered celebrating lighting the first candle this Chanukah in downtown Budapest. Chabad served jelly donuts, gave out Chanukah literature and menorahs.

MONTREAL, Canada [CHI] — Over 500 children and parents attended the grand Chanukah Carnival on Motzoai Shabbos Chanukah, organized by the High School students of Beth Rivkah Montreal.

The Bochrim of Yeshivas Lubavitch Toronto performed a stunning educational Chanukah play, traveling around the city, performing in all the major Jewish schools including non-religious schools. 13 Bochrim worked endless nights to produce a Chanukah theater on wheels that catered to 9 schools within 4 days.

More than 500 people attended the main Chanukah Menorah lighting held last Friday night, with nearly 400 people staying for the Chanukah Shabbos meal at the Chabad House. Throughout the holidays were Menorah displays around the city, with the help of students and the local Shliach.

More then 300 people attended a huge Chanukah party of Israeli Community Foundation - Light Chabad, Budapest, Hungary. There was a magnificent banquet at a hotel Inter Continental hall. The evening began with Shliach Rabbi Baruch Aovrlndr and Chief Rabbi Herbie of Congregation D. Hungary explaining about the essence of the holiday and its meaning relevant to this day. Shliach Rabbi Shmuel Raskin lit the Menorah.

BROOKLYN, NY [CHI] — World’s Greatest Department Store Hosted the Workshop Wonderland Celebrating World’s Greatest Miracle. As reported by CrownHeights.info here. Throughout that 8 days of Chanukah, Tizvos Hashem’s Jewish Children’s Museum became once of the most popular family and camp attractions. With something between 2000 and 2500 visitors a day the line to buy tickets to get in was seen extending out the building doors onto the side walk on Eastern Parkway.
Families from neighborhoods around Crown Heights flocked to the museum as well as winter camps from all around the tri-state area. The museum opened up Chanukah exhibits, shows and activities such as decorating doughnuts and baking Latkes.

Over ten of Chabad Youth Networks public school teen groups had a Chanukah celebration! The teens had their very first taste of Chanukah with doughnuts and genuine homemade potato latkes made by Rebbetzen Dini Gutnick. The platter was licked clean within seconds. One teen exclaimed, “I can definitely do eight days of this!” From there, their Chanukah spirits were awakened, and they were ready for more!

S. ANTONIO, TX [CHI] — Over 500 people rode 12 boats adorned with Menorahs for a Chanukah Cruise at the 12th Annual Chanukah on the River celebration in Downtown S. Antonio on Sunday, the third night of Chanukah. They then joined another 500 people waiting at the outdoor Arneson River Theatre for a menorah lighting and concert with The 8th Day led by the Marcus brothers, a Jewish rock band from LA.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Sunday the first night of chanukah a party was held at the Chesed Center, a division of Ahavas Chesed. Lots of Doughnuts, Nosh and Gifts where given out to the kids. Gifts where donated by many people in the community, with over 100 Gifts where donated by the Laniado Family, Mill basin. The fun filled day was topped of with a delicous supper from the soup kitchen.

MIAMI, FL [CHI] — This past Sunday December 9, 2007 over 400 people gathered together to witness Chanukah in the snow at Chabad of Kendall/Pinecrest.
The crowd witnesses as 10 Tons of snow was made in front of their eyes, who would think that this would happened in Florida this was one of the miracles of Chanukah in Florida.

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay [CHI] — Tuesday, the third night of Chanukah. Hundreds of men women and children joined by His Excellency Don Yoel Barnea, the Israeli ambassador to Uruguay and other communal and national dignitaries, to light the public Menorah along the boardwalk of Montevideo. The band of the National Police Band played Jewish melodies, while clowns and famous soccer players entertained the many children gathered for the special Hakhel gathering. After the public lighting, there was a special Chanukkah BBQ for youth where more than 50 students attended and 'farbrenged' until the wee hours of the morning. Both activities where beautiful and a big Kidush Hashem.

SYDNEY, Australia [CHI] — For the third candle lighting a huge parade of over 100 cars with Menorahs was organized, driving throughout the city, culminating with a public Menorah lighting in the CBD “Martin Place”, Hundreds of Men woman and children came to celebrate.

Over the eight days of Chanukah, the tireless and dedicated released time instructors visited their students in their homes, bringing the joy and beauty of Chanukah to each one of the children’s families. They lit the Menorah with the children and their families, played dreidle and distributed doughnuts and Chanukah gelt. Additionally, they put up Mezuzos in those homes that didn’t have one yet.

ULYANOVSK, Russia [CHI] — Chanukah in Ulyanovsk was a big success. Over 600 people attending a grand Chanukah concert with famous Russian Jewish singer Yefim Shefrin. There were many other smaller Chanukah event around the city for specific groups, like one at the Chabad Ladies Club, the Chabad Youth Club etc.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] – Around 12:00am this Motzoai Shabbos a fire broke out in a Jewish home on Montgomery Street between New York and Brooklyn Avenues, the cause of which is blamed on a Chanukah Menorah.
The house, which was empty at the time, had a Menorah next to a couch and somehow fell and ignited the couch. A Bochur who was passing by noticed the fire and called 911, who responded within moments and had the fire under control immediately thereafter.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark [CHI] — Chanukah began with a family Talmud Torah party for children and their parents, at the Chabad house, enjoying a myriad of Chanukah activities. On the second night of Chanukah, a grand Menorah lighting celebration was held, with the Israeli ambassador and other local dignitarie participating. Despite the high wind and cold weather, a few hundred people showed up to participate. It was covered extensively in the local media. A Chanukah celebration was also held in the legislative chamber of Copenhagen City council, which was open for the general public. For many people it was the first time inside this historic room, and definitely the first time it hosted a Chanukah celebration, including delicious food and entertainment for the children.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — At tonight’s Bar Mitzvah of Mendel Katz, son of Yossi and Nechama Dina Katz, and grandchild of Rabbi Zev Katz – Gabbai of 770, and Rabbi Yisroel Rosenfeld – Director of Oholei Torah, a Teshura was distributed by JEM featuring Chanukah video clips of the Rebbe through the years.

WOODMERE, NY [CHI] — CrownHeights.info reporting from the scene: At least fifteen people are injured after a car slammed into a building, running over many children and adults. Including a one and a half year old baby, who is among the more seriously injured. The vehicle ended up at about 30 feet inside the building.
At about 2:45pm an 78-year-old man lost control of his car. Slamming it through a plate glass window and driving straight into the building at 1052 Broadway in Woodmere, where the Chabad of Five Towns was hosting its “Chanukah Wonderland” workshop and funhouse.
